In this section we will pose some of the most common questions we receive and try to answer them in the simplest way possible. We'll do our best to keep the section updated and relevant, but if you have a question we haven't answered, don't hesitate to call us.

Q & A

Q. I pulled out the jam but it's still not ready, why?

A. There may still be a piece of paper stuck in the machine.  Follow the on screen instructions to open all the access doors, paper drawers and hatches associated with the jam. Even if all the jammed paper is removed, the machine still wants all door and drawer switches associated to be reset, i.e. opened and closed.

Q. How can I get the toner in my Canon iR Advance C5030 if the little doors wont open?

A. The Canon imageRUNNER Advance Color 5030 model lines have a toner detection method that is able to extract every last gram of available toner from the bottle. To ensure it's not replaced before it is needed, the machine only offers to allow the change when the bottle is in fact empty.

Q."Why can't I print, I could yesterday?"

A. After double checking all your hard connections to the computer and copier (power plugs, network cables, and i.p. address is correct), there are a few things to look for. Have you or anyone else changed or updated operating systems? Did anyone in the office get a NEW computer? Is the server down? Did you allow microsoft updates to make changes to your system recently?  All these things could result in your failure to print.  There is a link to a video on the product demo page on how to check your ip address.

Q. Can I print sticker labels with my full size copier?

A. Although many machines purport to be able to print on sticker stock, we do not endorse it, nor will it be covered by your maintenance contract if and when those labels release from the backing and apply themselves to the most expensive parts in your machine. We suggest, instead, that if you make labels on a regular basis, that you buy a smaller, more disposable model like a Brother or HP.  We can help you with that.

Q. Can I print on card stock?

A. Short answer, Yes. Most machines have an option to use if running thick kinds of paper. You will also want to feed the paper from the machines bypass tray instead of from the paper drawer. This is because thick paper is less capable of rounding the corners in the paper path from the drawer and the bypass is a more or less strait shot past the drum and fuser.
